Look Around You.

Something caught my attention, and is really bothering me lately. 

Crossing paths with some people, homeless people, I could notice that I get the same reaction from them when I say a simple Good Morning, Good Afternoon or Hello. 

The reaction? 

The reaction is surprise, and this make me extremely sad.

It doesn’t matter if that person chose to be living out there, or if she is poor, or even if she has a drug or drinking addition, she is still a person. 

Make sure to say hello, to look at those people. They will feel like PEOPLE again!

I know the World is a danger place right now, and who am I to give someone some kind of advice? 

But one thing I’m sure:
No one will kill you for simply noticing them.

Music: Joy Of Life!

Today I decided to write about something that makes me feel complete: Music!

I started by playing a little percussion & keyboard.
I always loved the keyboard , even had some classes. But some how, ended up playing percussion.

Playing in the Church, I started to have access to music and what I didn’t know, also access for one of my favorite instruments of all time:
The Drums.

A friend of mine once told me: “You will be playing the last song of the night on the drums” And I was like… “Dude, are you crazy?” Lol

So I did, and felt in love with this instrument. 

Months goes by, he had to leave the city to study, and left me in charge of the drums, where I learned a lot, so I will be forever grateful.
Gustavo is his name.

A few years later, I stopped playing at the Church and met new people, The Corrs fans (great friends!)
We gather at the Park to play their songs & some Irish tunes. 

But sometimes, life surprise us in the most weird and unexpected ways, and on December the 20th of 2011, I fell of my bycicle and hurt my elbow pretty bad, so, for what I thought...
 Bye bye drums. 

I was, am, so grateful that I’m alive, that I decided not to think about not being able to play drums again. I decided to focus on what happens, happens, and that we have to accept and try to live the best way we can. 

Years goes bye, lots of physical therapy sessions later, and I’m able to play some percussion & cajón. I even played a little on electronic drums couple months ago. 

And this year, I've learned about this brazilian instrument on Youtube called Tanajura, where you can put in your lap and play.
I couldn’t be more happy! I was able to play music again!!
And all of this because of this amazing artist called Nilo Cruz, who came up with this cool, new instrument.

I thank God everyday, for making me believe on the bright side of things. And also I’m grateful for my  family, friends, Doctor and Physical Therapists, for the amazing support.

I still have a long way to go, one more surgery...
But I’m confidant that everything will be just fine, even if I don’t get my elbow fully recovered, because I have Music, Family and Friends to get me thru the dark moments.
